one of the earliest fully electronic musical instruments. It was invented by Russian inventor Lev Theremin in 1919, and it is unique in that it was the first musical instrument designed to be played without being touched.

Chapman Stick

The Stick is a 'touch-instrument,' played by tapping the strings with both hands, as you would a piano.

Quintar

This 8-stringed instrument is the creation of Luthier Edwin Panaakker of the Netherlands, and is a 29.5" scale instrument tuned from low Gg to high Ee. It is tuned in fifths, hence the name.

Duduk

The duduk is a double reed instrument which has ancient origins, said to be from 1500 to 3000 years old. Unlike other double-reed instruments, the reed is quite wide, helping to give the duduk both its unique, mournful sound, as well as its remarkable breath requirements.
